Shower Bar

A shower bar secures the shower curtain and allows it to be easily opened and closed. There are a number of different styles and configurations but they are all surprisingly similar and simple, a bar the goes from one side of the wall to the other and is thin enough to accept shower curtain sliders.

A shower bar can be strait from one side of the wall to another, it can have a 90 degree bend for corner areas or it can go completely in a circle as well as anywhere in between. The design of the room determines which kind of bar will be used. A strait bar is the easiest to install, some have built in tension springs so no hardware is needed at all.

A shower bar is easy to find at hardware stores, home improvement stores as well as specialty bath stores such as Bed, Bath and Beyond as well as online retailers. They come in every imaginable color but chrome is by far the most popular finish because of its durability and bright shine.
